"Having your head in the clouds, even for just a few minutes each day, is good for your mind, good for your body, and good for your soul." - Gavin Pretor-Pinney

1.

Experience

I have worked with and supported adults, children and young people for over 25 years. As a registered social worker and therapist I have worked in a range of settings including several years working for a well known national children's charity. I have worked with adults to identify and achieve their goals, supported them to cope with problems, find solutions and make changes.

2.

Values

Believing that people are unique individuals and experts in their own lives, I adapt my way of working to suit each person. I work with compassion and understanding, supporting you to recognise existing strengths and abilities , working towards achieving your goals and desired outcomes, whatever they may be.

Counselling, Therapy or Wellbeing

Counselling can be short or long term and focussed on a specific goal or goals. Psychotherapy is usually carried out over a longer period of time and may look at long held beliefs influenced by childhood experiences. Wellbeing sessions can be a single session designed to support self care and mental wellbeing.

Why Walking & Talking Therapy?...

The benefits of being outdoors in nature are now well recognised. From increased wellbeing, lowered anxiety, depression and stress levels, to reduced anger, increased confidence and self worth. It has also been shown to be effective for loss and bereavement, and when going through crisis or transitions.

Walking & Talking during a therapy session has many benefits for people who find it difficult to talk, think or feel while sitting still. Walking side by side with less eye contact can, for some, feel more equal and less formal. The walking can be a slow amble including sitting down somewhere or walking a little faster if that's what is preferred. You set the pace. In the event of bad weather the session would move to online.

I offer walking & talking therapy in the Woodbridge area of Suffolk. If you are interested in therapy sessions outdoors, online or face to face in a therapy room, do schedule in a free 20 minute chat to see if it's right for you.
